Detroit Pistons: Top-5 teams in franchise history

The greatest Pistons team of all time is the 1989-90 team

While they lost more games in both the regular season and post season than the team the previous year, they still won 59 games with the same core and head coach.

The difference between this team and the 1989 team is the fact that this was the year that solidified the Bad Boys Pistons as a legit contender, whereas many questioned the legitimacy of the first championship. Sounds like NBA fans.

This time, the Bulls were much closer to being the dynasty that they would become, taking three games from the Pistons in the conference finals led by Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippin.

While these may be the best teams in franchise history, with guys like Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey on the rise, it’s incredibly likely that a future team may take one of these spots.
