Detroit Pistons regular season schedule predictions

April: 2 wins, 3 losses

April will be the shortest month of the season, and by then, the Detroit Pistons will likely be well out of the play-in discussion and more in talks about who is going to get the number one pick in the draft.

I have them winning against the Magic and Pacers to end the season, with losses to the Heat, Nets, and Bulls, who will all likely be jockeying for playoff position and seeding by then, depending on whether the Nets trade Kevin Durant and the Bulls can stay healthy.

Final Record: 28 wins, 54 losses

The Detroit Pistons will definitely lose some games they should win and win some that they weren’t supposed to, but I think 28 wins is probably a fair assessment of where they will be.

This gives them five more wins than last season, a reasonable progression, especially when you consider they will actually be even younger next season than they were in this one. Of course, if everything goes to plan and the offseason additions make a big impact along with significant improvement from the young core, the Pistons could surprise some people, win a few more games than expected and end up near the play-in, so I hope my predictions are dead wrong and Detroit is battling for a playoff spot instead of lottery balls.
