3 Detroit Pistons who won’t finish the season with the team

Cory Joseph

The logjam at guard got a less cluttered when Detroit moved on from Saben Lee in the Bogdanovic trade.

And with Alec Burks probably out at the beginning of the season with a minor injury, it is likely that Cory Joseph will be back in the rotation as one of the backup guards.

This isn’t a bad thing, as Joseph is a smart player and was one of the Pistons’ best 3-point shooters last season.

It will also get them a chance to showcase him for a possible trade, as Joseph is on an expiring deal and will almost certainly interest a contender looking to bolster their depth and add a veteran who can shoot.

When Burks comes back, Joseph could lose his spot in the rotation, and if Detroit doesn’t envision him as part of the long-term plans, there is really no reason to keep him around.

CoJo is not going to fetch a huge return, but he could probably net Detroit a developmental player or a second-round pick.

While these three are the most likely, there are several more Pistons who could be shipped out if things don’t go well.
