Pistons game tonight: Pistons vs Pelicans odds, injury report, predictions, TV channel for Oct. 7
The Detroit Pistons will try to get their first win of the preseason on the road tonight against the New Orleans Pelicans.
The Pistons were flat and uninspiring in their blowout loss to the Knicks, turning the ball over 21 times and missing a ton of 3-point shots.
Cade Cunningham and Saddiq Bey had poor games and hope to bounce back tonight against the Pels, who won their first preseason game against the Bulls.
This is going to be a tough matchup for Detroit, as the Pelicans are big and attack the rim, so the Pistons’ centers and forwards are going to be challenged in the Big Easy.
It’s only preseason of course, but it would be nice to see a better effort from Detroit, especially Cunningham and Bey. Here’s everything you need to know.
Detroit Pistons vs New Orleans Pelicans: Odds, Spread, Over/Under
According to FanDuel, the Pistons are six point underdogs on the road against the Pelicans, which is actually pretty low considering New Orleans scored 129 points in their first game and Detroit failed to crack 100.
The money lines are set at +198 for Detroit and -250 for New Orleans. After having watched both of these teams’ first games, I would not be betting heavily on Detroit. There is no points total or over/under set for this game.
Pistons injury report
It appears as if Nerlens Noel and Kevin Knox will once again miss action with injuries, and Alec Burks is out until further evaluation in a few weeks. All of these players are listed as day-to-day but not expected to play tonight.
Detroit Pistons vs. New Orleans Pelicans: Prediction
After the way Detroit played against the Knicks, it’s easy to predict a blowout in this one, as the Pelicans looked sharp against the Bulls, but you never know who is going to show up in preseason.
I think Dwane Casey will get a better effort out of his group and hopefully Cade and Saddiq won’t go 1-of-10 from 3-point range again, which should keep Detroit closer.
But New Orleans has big advantages when it comes to size, athleticism and depth, so I expect they will eventually pull away.
New Orleans 115, Detroit 101
