Pistons game tonight: Pistons vs Grizzlies odds, injury report, predictions, TV channel for Oct. 13
The Detroit Pistons will get their final preseason tune-up tonight at home against the Memphis Grizzlies.
This will be the last preseason game for both teams, so we may get a heavy dose of the deep bench as they try to avoid injuries. Both teams played their regulars heavy minutes (for preseason) in the last game, so it will be interesting to see who plays tonight and for how long.
The Grizzlies are a team Detroit hopes to emulate, as they have used the draft and savvy trades to build a sustainably competitive roster around a star guard.
The Pistons haven’t looked great in their first three preseason games (all losses), so it would be nice if they played a little better tonight as they ramp up to the games being real. Wins and losses don’t matter in the preseason (as has been mansplained to me repeatedly by helpful readers, cheers lads!) but it would be nice for a young team to carry some positives into the season.
Marvin Bagley III went out with a knee injury in the last preseason game. Luckily it doesn’t appear serious, though he will miss the beginning of the regular season. Let’s hope the Pistons can make it though the final preseason game unscathed and have a few things go their way to take some positive momentum into the season even if they don’t win.
Here is all of the information you need for tonight’s game against the Grizzlies.
Detroit Pistons vs Memphis Grizzlies: Odds, Spread, Over/Under
According to FanDuel, the Pistons are five point underdogs at home tonight against the Grizzlies. It would probably be higher but we really have no idea who will even play tonight, so this could end up being a battle of fringe rotation guys and G-League players.
The money lines are set at +172 for Detroit and -215 for Memphis, but this is preseason so why are you betting again?
Pistons injury report
Marvin Bagley III will be out for at least 3-4 weeks as he rehabs his knee and Alec Burks, Nerlens Noel, Kevin Knox, Isaiah Livers, Bojan Bogdanovic, Hamidou Diallo and Kemba Walker are all listed as day-to-day and will likely sit tonight.
If you are a big fan of Braxton Key and Buddy Boeheim, I’ve got some good new for you!
Detroit Pistons vs. Memphis Grizzlies: Prediction
As much as this game doesn’t really matter, I do think Detroit would like to win one before the real games start. Whether they will probably depends on who plays and for how long.
Without knowing who is going to play, predicting the outcome is impossible, but I will predict that we see more competitiveness and effort out of Detroit tonight after three fairly lackluster performances regardless of who plays.
Detroit 105, Memphis 115
