The Detroit Pistons can go big

Right now the Pistons are missing two of their bigs with Marvin Bagley III and Nerlens Noel out, though Noel should be returning soon, as he is just working himself into game shape.

The result is that they have gotten killed on points in the paint, losing that battle in every game so far this season, and by a wide margin.

Once Noel or Bagley are back, moving Bey to the bench would allow Dwane Casey to put rookie Jalen Duren in the starting five to hopefully keep the other team from scoring effortlessly in the paint.

Here is a rotation I would like to see while the Pistons are still trying to get healthy:

  • Cade Cunningham/Killian Hayes
  • Jaden Ivey/Cory Joseph
  • Isaiah Livers/Saddiq Bey
  • Bogdan Bogdanovic/Isaiah Stewart
  • Jalen Duren/Nerlens Noel

Once Burks and MBIII get back, things will get even more complicated as coach Casey tries to figure out the best fits, but for now, Bey might be best utilized as the primary weapon off the bench.

This move is probably not going to happen, and as I said, there are arguments for keeping Bey where he is, especially when he is doing his job and providing efficient scoring.

But eventually coach Casey is going to have some tough decisions and may have to shake things up.
