The Detroit Pistons are coming off two straight losses to the Atlanta Hawks and sit at just 1-5 as they welcome the Golden State Warriors to Little Caesar’s Tonight.

Sadly, Detroit hasn’t even gotten to the tough part of their early schedule, which starts tonight against the defending champs, so expect things to get worse before they get better.

Detroit wasted a career night from Cade Cunningham in the last game, as the defense was terrible and the bench (once again) put them in a big hole. Cade didn’t get any favors from his own coach, who left him out too long, nor the refs, who allowed him to take a pounding at the rim without the benefit of a call.

Detroit should be playing angry tonight, and will hopefully be able to give the home crowd something to cheer for against the Warriors.

Here’s everything you need to know.

Detroit Pistons vs Golden State Warriors: Odds, Spread, Over/Under

Detroit hasn’t been covering many of these spreads, and they are eight point underdogs tonight against Golden State. The money lines are set at +270 for Detroit and -330 for Golden State and the combined point total is 230, highest of the season so far.

The books are obviously responding to the Pistons giving up 136 points against Atlanta, but the Warriors haven’t yet found their groove and their defense should be able to hold Detroit in check, so I like the under in this one, especially considering the Warriors are on the second game of a back-to-back.

Pistons injury report

Marvin Bagley III and Alec Burks are both out for Detroit and there is still no update on when they are going to be back. MBIII’s “minor” injury is starting to look worse than I originally expected from team reports, but hopefully he’ll be back soon, as the Detroit desperately needs some scoring from their awful bench.

Andre Iguodala and Donte DiVincenzo are both out for Golden State and Jordan Poole is listed as day-to-day.

Detroit Pistons vs. Golden State Warriors: Prediction

I do think Detroit will hang in this one, as the Warriors played last night and got beaten in overtime against the Hornets. Detroit figured some things out offensively against the Hawks, but until their defense improves, it won’t really matter.

I think the early season hole for Detroit is going to keep getting deeper tonight, though they will keep it close.

Detroit 105, Golden State 112
