Killian Hayes is the worst offensive player in the NBA

It has only been 10 games, but so far we have not seen the improvement we were hoping for from Killian Hayes, and in fact, he’s been the worst offensive player in the NBA.

His shooting numbers are the worst in the NBA for any player that actually gets minutes, and if things don’t turn around soon, he could lose his spot in the rotation completely, though coach Casey has said that isn’t an option at this point.

But let’s face it, the Detroit bench has been a huge problem this season and a big part of that is Hayes’ complete inability to make a shot or even provide any type of threat on offense. He is averaging 2.7 points per game while shooting 18 percent from the field.

The Pistons only have 4 options for Killian Hayes. light. Related Story

I don’t care how good your defense is, a team can’t have a point guard who can’t shoot, as it just wrecks the entire offense. Teams back off Killian by 10 feet and just dare him to shoot, making it nearly impossible to have any space on offense, which negates his passing.

It’s still early, and I am not trying to pile on here, as Killian has mostly been playing with a bad group that is not suited to his talents, but it’s been ugly so far and the Pistons may eventually have to do something drastic.

The only thing he can do is focus on playing tough defense and trying to be the quarterback of the second unit, but his lack of shot making is clearly sucking the life out of him and the entire bench. Unfortunately the Detroit Pistons don’t have many other options, so Killian is just going to have to take his lumps.

It’s only been 10 games, so there is plenty of time to turn things around, and who knows, maybe we’ll look back at him in another 10 games with a completely different perspective, but right now, it looks like he’s about to join his friend Sekou Doumbouya.
