Morale is important for young teams

Casey is beloved by his players and revered by media members. He’s an older guy, about the same age as some of the fathers of the players he coaches, which means that these young men look at him as a father figure.

That’s not something that you want to rip from them so early on. Obviously, business is business and the team will do what is necessary, however young teams require a very patient front office and much more gentle approach when it comes to coaching.

They are looking for more than just basketball knowledge, but life lessons, and a loving workspace to grow and develop in. The head coach is the most important piece to keeping the team intact, sometimes even more than the star player.

Coach Casey is very much the glue keeping these young men in line. Many of them already see him as the OG, or the Alpha Dog and you can see it in their demeanor. When he talks they listen and when he barks they heel.

Even more amazing to see is the sheer confidence he has in his guys, as on many occasions he’s gone to bat for them, and has even said that Beef stew, Bey and Cade will all be superstars in the NBA for years to come. All the front office needs to do is wait, and the success will materialize.

Those who want to see coach Casey fired are going to have to wait, and the day may never come, as it’s far more likely that he’ll be moved into a front office position at some point if he chooses.
