The Detroit Pistons have gotten off to a poor start and could once again be buried before December even rolls around.

They are just entering one of the most difficult stretches in their schedule and could have 20 losses by the end of the December. We knew this young team was going to take time, so this start isn’t completely surprising, and there is still time to turn things around, but the clock is ticking.

There are still some big questions hanging over this team, one of which is what they are going to do with some of their veterans if they don’t start winning games.

The Detroit Pistons have a few guys who will draw interest from contending teams, namely Bojan Bogdanovic, who has gotten off to a great start, shooting 50 percent from the floor and 41 percent from 3-point range.

Detroit recently extended Bogdanovic and may view him as part of the future plans, but he’s also their best (and only really) trade asset, so if things get even bleaker, they may decide to move him, as his value may never be higher.

Detroit Pistons: When can the Pistons trade Bojan Bogdanovic?

Because of his recently-signed extension, Bogdanovic would not be eligible for trade until December 15th, one month from today.

I don’t think Detroit will necessarily be shopping him that early, as they want to see what this team can be at full strength and once they start to gel and build chemistry. A month might not be enough to evaluate that, but we know teams are already reportedly calling and more will be as December 15th approaches.

Just like last season with Jerami Grant, Detroit could end up with the deadline’s hottest trade target, so if they want to cash in for future assets, they’ll likely have several suitors to choose from.

Although Bogdanovic’s contract puts restrictions on when he can be dealt, those extra years could make him more valuable to any team looking for more than a rental. Of course, the opposite is also true, as there are teams who might prefer less of a commitment, though his contract is reasonable and only runs for two additional seasons.

Unfortunately, the Pistons poor start coupled with Bojan’s rising value will make trading him this year’s pet topic, but unless Detroit shows some life, they could be sellers once again.
