Detroit Pistons: Cons of this 3-way trade with Bucks and Suns

I think both the Suns and Bucks would do this move, as neither are giving up much and would get back a piece that would help them win a title this season.

It would really come down to the Detroit Pistons and whether they felt this was enough to move off Bogdanovic this early in his tenure, especially when he is playing so well and looks like good complement to Cade Cunningham.

Trading him before the deadline would certainly be waiving the white flag for this season and potentially the next one, as Detroit is bad enough with Bogdanovic and Grayson Allen is not going to replace his scoring or veteran leadership.

Allen is a good player, but he’s not at Bogs’ level and probably never will be. Dario Saric has barely played this season and didn’t play at all last year. At his peak, he would have been an upgrade but can he still play? This move would make Detroit worse this season.

The Suns’ pick will almost certainly be near the end of the first round, so it is no gimme that the Pistons will even find a rotation player there. If this team truly intends to turn the corner in the near future, this move ain’t it, as it would make them worse this year and even younger for next season, meaning they’d likely be doing this again without a major overhaul to the roster next offseason.

It’s more hope dangled like a carrot in front of us donkey fans, who have been sold a load of hope and want to see some results.

But there is another side.
