Pistons game tonight: Pistons vs Clippers odds, Cade Cunningham injury update, predictions, TV channel for Nov. 17
Things have not started well for the Detroit Pistons. They are 3-12, are down two starters and will hit the road tonight for a six-game trip having yet to win their first game away from home.
They will tip of the road trip tonight against the LA Clippers, who are coming off a tight loss to Dallas and are just 8-7 on the season, somewhat surprising given that they were chosen by many to win the title this season.
Both teams will be missing key players tonight, so can the Detroit Pistons break their four-game losing streak and get their first win on the road?
Here is all of the information you need.
Detroit Pistons vs LA Clippers: Odds, Spread, Over/Under
Fanduel currently has Detroit as nine point underdogs on the road against the Clippers, and the money lines are set at -390 for LA and +310 for Detroit.
The over/under is 215.5, which may seem low considering Detroit has one of the worst defenses in the league. But these are also the two lowest scoring teams in the NBA, there will be players missing and the Clippers have the league’s 4th-best defense.
But that is still very low, as the Clippers could easily put up 120 on Detroit, so I like the over on this one and all Pistons’ games until their defense starts to improve, which is not likely to happen tonight.
Pistons injury report: Will Cade Cunningham play?
Cade Cunningham is still listed as out with a shin injury and there is currently no timetable for his return, though the original prognosis said he would miss a week at least. That was five days ago, so expect Cade to miss the first two games of this road trip, which will be their 5th back-to-back of the season already.
Isaiah Stewart is also out and will be evaluated in 2-3 weeks with a toe injury and Cory Joseph is listed as questionable.
The only good news for Detroit is that Kawhi Leonard is out (Shocker! Does this guy EVER play? And why isn’t this a story like it was for KD or Simmons or Zion?) Paul George is listed as questionable and Luke Kennard is doubtful.
Detroit Pistons vs. LA Clippers: Prediction
So Detroit is missing two starters on the road, which is not a good sign. It’s possible that LA will rest/sit key players as well, so this one may end up being tighter than expected.
It’s hard to see Detroit winning right now without Cade (their best offensive player) and Stewart (their best defender) when they were already struggling in those areas. I think we’ll see some big games from the rookies, but don’t expect Detroit to win.
Detroit 105, LA Clippers 115
