Detroit Pistons stock market: Players trending up

Jaden Ivey

Ivey’s 3-point shooting has been inconsistent over the last five games with Cade Cunningham out, but he has still averaged 21.2 points per game in that span and hit all four of his attempts last night.

Ivey is now averaging 16.8 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.1 assists on the season and last week claimed the second spot on the ESPN Rookie Ladder.

Ivey has scored at least 21 points in three of the last five games, so things are trending up for the rookie. He needs to keep his 3-point attempts moderate and continue to attack as he did last night. He also has to cut out the silly fouls, as he is picking up early ones that take him out of the flow of the game, but overall, Ivey is improving.

3 big questions that have to be asked. light. Related Story

Killian Hayes

Hayes is still wildly inconsistent, but he is getting better, especially from 3-point range, where he hit 2-of-3 again last night. Over his last seven games, Killian Hayes has shot 42.3 percent from 3-point range on 3.7 attempts per game, huge steps up from where he was for most of the season.

He’s shot 41 percent from the field overall, not great, but he looks more confident from the mid-range. He still struggles mightily to score on drives, but he is knocking down his 3-point looks of late and looks comfortable doing it.

Jalen Duren

Duren has been a rebounding machine in his 21 minutes per game, grabbing 7.5 rebounds, but he’s ticked that up to 8.6 over the last five games. He grabs the tough ones, as he’s near the top of the league in contested rebound percentage, and when he takes one off the offensive glass, he usually flushes it.

Duren has scored 12 points in each of his last two games, and is showing more offensively, especially last night, when he made some nice passes out of the short roll that led to open 3-point looks for the Detroit Pistons. Duren has been one of the real bright spots this season and the NBA’s youngest player keeps showing more every game which is exciting.

Alec Burks

It’s a shame that Cunningham, Stewart and Bey went out just as Burks was coming back, as it would have been nice to see the Pistons play with a full team. Burks has done his thing since returning, averaging 15.4 points and shooting nearly 40 percent from 3-point range in five games.

His presence has solidified the bench, which played one of its best games of the season last night. His shooting inside the arc has been inconsistent, but he’s getting to the line more to make up for it.
