Detroit Pistons vs. Phoenix Suns: The Ugly

Injuries

This has been one of the most frustrating seasons in recent memory, as the Pistons just can’t seem to stay healthy.

As soon as they started getting some of their bench guys back, Cade Cunningham, Isaiah Stewart and Saddiq Bey all went down with injuries and Jaden Ivey had to be held out last night.

As if that wasn’t enough, Bojan Bogdanovic got his ankle stepped on with 25 seconds left in the game. He twisted his knee awkwardly as he went down and it didn’t look great.

What added insult to injury is that he didn’t even get a call even though he was clearly fouled and the Suns were able to grab the ball and get an easy bucket to extend their lead and essentially seal the game.

Hopefully it wasn’t as bad as it looked, which Bogdanovic confirmed after the game:

"“He stepped on my ankle, then the knee went inside, but it’s not bad,” Bogdanovic said. “I thought it was worse. I will see how it feels tomorrow.”"

The last thing Detroit needs is another injury, so let’s hope Bogdanovic is ok and doesn’t have to miss any games.

Injuries are a part of sports, but Detroit certainly hasn’t had much luck in this department so far this season, which has continually squashed even the minor momentum they have started to build.
