Well, the Detroit Pistons certainly have been a glass half-full, half empty team of late. They looked so bad in a loss to the New York Knicks, but then looked so good in a win over the Dallas Mavericks..

The Pistons now step up a class, with a home game on Sunday against Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies, who were second in the Western Conference last year.

When: Sunday, December 4, 6 p.m.

Where: Little Caesars Arena, Detroit

Records: Pistons (6-18), Grizzlies (13-9)

Last game(s): Detroit defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 131-125, in overtime. Memphis won at home over the Philadelphia 76ers, 117-109.

Can Detroit string two good performances together? It has not happened much. Here is everything you need to know.

Detroit Pistons vs Memphis Grizzlies: Odds, Spread, Over/Under

Caesars has Detroit as 7.0 point underdogs at home against Memphis. The money lines are +270 for Detroit and -335 for Memphis. The over/under is a combined 230.5 points.

The Grizzlies of course have Morant, an electric guard and one of the top scorers and playmakers in the league. The return of Jaren Jackson Jr. gives Morant an athletic frontcourt teammate to pair with.

Memphis is not a great shooting team but they hammer the offensive boards.

Pistons/Grizzlies injury report:
According to the Saturday night NBA injury report, Cade Cunningham is still out for Detroit with his shin injury. Isaiah Livers is also out after suffering a shoulder injury against Dallas.

Memphis will be without Desmond Bane, one of its top scorers, and Zaire Williams. Starting center Steven Adams, its starting center, is questionable with right hip soreness (probably received banging bodies with Joel Embiid).

Detroit Pistons vs. Memphis Grizzlies: Prediction

Not counting the Knicks game, the Pistons have looked pretty good of late. Livers is a nice role player but the team should not fall apart due to his absence. Jaden Ivey or Saddiq Bey will probably replace him the starting lineup, that is more than adequate replacement.

This feels like a trap game for Memphis. They just had a big, emotional win at home over the Sixers and then have to hop on a plane to Detroit. Of course, Morant could single-handedly manufacture a win.

Killian Hayes and, probably, Hamidou Diallo, guarding Morant should be fun to watch.

I will say Memphis pulls out a barnburner, but the Pistons cover the spread:

Memphis 114, Detroit 109
