The Detroit Pistons will take on the hated Los Angeles Lakers tonight at home in Little Caesar’s Arena.
After last night’s slate of games, the Pistons are back at the bottom of the Eastern Conference with a 7-21 record overall. The Lakers aren’t far ahead, just 13th in the Western Conference and losers of three straight games, including an overtime loss last night.
The Lakers got Anthony Davis back last night, so the Pistons will have their hands full trying to stop points in the paint, which has been a huge problem of late.
Davis scored 38 the last time these two teams met, and the Lakers could be getting LeBron James back tonight as well.
Can Detroit get a win against their historical rival at home? Here is all of the information you will need.
Detroit Pistons vs Los Angeles Lakers: Odds, Spread, Over/Under
Because the Lakers are banged up and on the second game of a back-to-back, Fanduel has them as just five point favorites tonight in Detroit. The money lines are +168 for Detroit and -200 for the Lakers and the over/under is set at a very-high 233.5 combined points.
Even though these are two of the worst defenses in the NBA, that seems a tad high, as they only give up 233.1 points combined on average for the season, the Lakers will be on tired legs and the Detroit offense has stunk lately.
Pistons injury report: Is Cade Cunningham out for the season?
If you want to know what the hell is going on with Cade Cunningham, join the club, as Detroit has kept his injury status top secret. The longer he avoids surgery, the more it seems like they are going to see if rest is enough to get him back this season, which in my opinion is a big risk.
Isaiah Livers has been upgraded to questionable for this one, which is a good news.
The Lakers will be without Wenyen Gabriel, Cole Swider and Juan Toscano-Anderson. LeBron James has been upgraded to probable and Anthony Davis is day-to-day.
Detroit Pistons vs. LA Lakers: Prediction
The Lakers held on for a tight win in the first matchup between these two teams and Detroit was missing even more players then. If both AD and LeBron play, this will be a tough one for Detroit even though LA is on a back-to-back. I wouldn’t be shocked if Davis sat for this one but the Lakers are desperate for victories, so he’ll go if he can.
I want to pick the Pistons to win this one, but with the way their offense is playing, it’s not easy. I do think it will be close though.
