Pistons game tonight: Pistons vs Nets odds, injury report, predictions, TV channel for Dec. 18
The Detroit Pistons will try to get back in the win column tonight against the red-hot Nets, who have won five in a row and 9-of-10 after getting out to a slow start this season.
Detroit sits with the second-worst record in the NBA while Brooklyn has climbed all the way up to the 4th seed behind brilliant play from their two stars, finally looking like the contender that many thought they would be coming into this season.
There have been some encouraging signs for Detroit, as they have won 5-of-13 games, which obviously isn’t great but when you are a young team missing it’s best player, progress is all you are looking for.
Rookie Jaden Ivey has been slumping, but Jalen Duren has exploded since being moved to the starting lineup, looking like a future star in the process, so it’s been one step forward two steps back for the young Pistons of late.
Can they get an upset win tonight at home against the Nets? Here is everything you will need to know.
Detroit Pistons vs Brooklyn Nets: Odds, Spread, Over/Under
Detroit are currently seven point underdogs at home tonight against the Nets according to Fanduel. The money lines are -300 for Brooklyn and +242 for Detroit and the over/under a combined 230.5 points.
That over/under seems high, but these two teams have both been averaging over 122 points per game in their last three and Detroit still has one of the worst defenses in the NBA, so I like the over in this one.
Pistons injury report
Cade Cunningham is officially out for the season and Detroit will still be without Isaiah Livers, who recently had a setback with his shoulder and will be evaluated in 2-3 weeks, so don’t expect to see him anytime soon.
Brooklyn will be without the services of Patty Mills, who is out with an illness.
Detroit Pistons vs. Brooklyn Nets: Prediction
Hopefully the Pistons will show up for this one, as they have played the Nets tight in the past and playing against future Hall of Famers is great experience for their young guys. The way to victory for the Pistons is to dominate the paint, as the Nets don’t have anyone with the size to handle Jalen Duren on the boards.
Unfortunately, the Nets still have Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, so I think they’ll get their sixth straight win in a close shootout.
Detroit 115, Brooklyn 120
