Pistons game tonight: Pistons vs Jazz odds, injury report, predictions, TV channel for Dec. 20
The Detroit Pistons take on the Utah Jazz tonight, hoping to break their two-game losing streak. Detroit has the worst record in the NBA again after the Charlotte Hornets won last night.
The Jazz have dropped two in a row themselves, including last night in a blowout loss to Cleveland, which pushed them to the 9th seed in the Western Conference after their red-hot start to the season.
The Pistons beat the Jazz in Utah for one of their eight wins, and have been playing more competitive basketball of late, though they are starting to develop the nasty habit of blowing big leads.
Rookie Jaden Ivey is showing signs of breaking out of his slump, and his fellow rookie Jalen Duren continues to dominate the boards since being put in the starting lineup, so there have been some positives for Detroit even though they aren’t piling up many wins.
Can Detroit get a second win over Utah? Here is everything you need to know.
Detroit Pistons vs Utah Jazz: Odds, Spread, Over/Under
Even though Detroit is at home and Utah is on the second game of a back-to-back, Fanduel still hast the Pistons as three point underdogs. The money lines are +126 for Detroit and -148 for Utah and the over/under is a combined 232.5 points.
This over/under seems a bit high, but the Pistons have been averaging 125 points over their last three games and still have one of the worst defenses in the league. Will Utah’s tired legs keep them from fulfilling their part? The two teams scored 241 combined points last time, but I like the under in this one.
Pistons injury report
Cade Cunningham and Isaiah Livers are both out for the Pistons. Cunningham will miss the rest of the season, and Livers suffered a recent setback and will need to be evaluated again in a few weeks. This has been a concerning season for Livers, who hasn’t been able to stay on the court and hasn’t shot the ball well when he has.
The Cavaliers will be missing Collin Sexton and former Piston Kelly Olynyk is also likely to sit for this one.
Detroit Pistons vs. Utah Jazz: Prediction
Detroit played one of their best games of this season against Utah last month and I like their chances to get a win tonight against the shorthanded Jazz, who are also on short rest.
The key for Detroit will be holding onto the lead if they actually get one, as they blew big ones against both the Kings and the Nets. It doesn’t happen often, but I am calling a Detroit victory.
Detroit 116, Utah 114
