Pistons game tonight: Pistons vs Magic odds, injury report, predictions, TV channel for Dec. 28
The Detroit Pistons will take on the Orlando Magic at home tonight, hoping to bounce back from a terrible loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Detroit blew a double-digit lead down the stretch and then fell apart in the overtime loss to the Clippers, one of their worst blown losses in recent memory.
The Magic have been somewhat of a surprise this season, as they have won 13 games and currently sit 5.5 games ahead of Detroit for the worst record in the league. The Magic have surpassed the Pistons with strong play from rookie Paolo Banchero and unexpected contributions from guys like Bol Bol.
Considering Detroit was close to trading for Bol Bol last season, his ascension has been even more painful to watch.
Detroit won the first matchup between the two teams, but that was the first game of the season and a lot has changed since then, namely Detroit losing their best player for the season.
Can the Pistons bounce back from a horrific loss and get back in the win column against the Magic? Here is everything you need to know.
Detroit Pistons vs Orlando Magic: Odds, Spread, Over/Under
Detroit is a one point underdog at home tonight according to Fanduel, which is pretty embarrassing considering they are playing Orlando. I didn’t expect the Pistons to be a home dog against the other cellar dwellers this season, but here we are.
The money lines are +102 for Detroit and -120 for Orlando and the over/under is a combined 229.5 points.
Detroit has been allowing about as many points as the Washington Generals do when they play the Harlem Globetrotters lately, over 128 per game in their last three, so the over almost can’t be high enough.
Pistons injury report
Marvin Bagley III has joined Cade Cunningham and Isaiah Livers on the injured list. Cunningham is out for the season, Livers will be out at least a couple of more weeks and MBIII has an unnamed illness.
The Magic will be missing Jalen Suggs, Chuma Okeke and Jonathan Isaac.
Detroit Pistons vs. Orlando Magic: Prediction
The Pistons have lost six in a row and are playing some of the worst defense in franchise history. It would be nice to think they will respond after completely blowing the game against the Clippers, but I am not sure this team hasn’t checked out on their coach. We will really see tonight.
The Magic have won 8-of-10 overall and are playing well, but hopefully Detroit will respond tonight and show some pride at home.
Detroit 118, Orlando 117
