The Detroit Pistons will continue their road trip tonight against the Portland Trail Blazers and old teammate Jerami Grant.

The Pistons are coming off a rare road win over the Minnesota Timberwolves and hope some of the promising developments  can follow them into the new year.

The Trail Blazers, who sit in the 8th spot in the Western Conference, have been slumping, as they have lost four of five, with the lone win coming against the terrible Hornets.

I’m sure Jerami Grant will be eager to have a huge game against the team that traded him away, and Detroit will try to keep their sliver of momentum going on the road in a game in which they are heavy underdogs.

Here is everything you will need to know.

Detroit Pistons vs Portland Trail Blazers: Odds, Spread, Over/Under

Detroit is a 9.5 point underdog on the road tonight against the Trail Blazers, with money lines set at +360 for the Pistons and -480 for the Trail Blazers. This line seems artificially high, and I like Detroit to cover.

The over/under is set at a combined 232.5 points, which seems high considering both teams are in the bottom half of the league offensively and only average 224 combined for the season.

Pistons injury report

Killian Hayes will finish his 3-game suspension tonight and will be joined on the bench by Cade Cunningham and Isaiah Livers.

The Blazers will be missing Nassir Little and Justise Winslow. Keon Johnson, Greg Brown and Jusuf Nurkic are all listed as questionable.

Detroit Pistons vs. Portland Trail Blazers: Prediction

Detroit was able to get a comeback win over the slumping Timberwolves behind some quality second-half defense, but it’s hard to see them winning two in a row on the road, especially against a Portland team that is desperate for a win.

The Pistons don’t really have an answer for Jerami Grant or Damian Lillard with Killian Hayes out, so expect a big game from the two veterans. I think Detroit will keep it close but likely blow it in clutch time against a veteran squad.

Detroit 110, Portland 117
