The Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls face off in the NBA Paris Game 2023 on Thursday afternoon, with a 3 p.m. EST start time.

The Pistons’ season is looking like a lost cause, but they have a chance to cover the spread here as a neutral site underdog, even though this game is technically a home game for them.

The Bulls have failed to cover as road favorites this season, going 0-4 in that spot, and they have underperformed expectations to this point in the season.

Cory Joseph, Nerlens Noel and Jalen Duren are all questionable for this game, but the Pistons will have Bojan Bogdanovic in the lineup after he had missed the team’s last game against the New York Knicks.

I think this is a spot to back the Pistons, as a neutral site game on a court these teams have never played could lead to some offensive struggles.

The Bulls give me very little confidence as a favorite this season, and the team is just 5-10 as favorites this season.

The Pistons aren’t a great team against the spread, mainly because they have a depleted roster with Cade Cunningham (out for the season) and Marvin Bagley III sidelined.

Still, when two poor teams are facing off, I prefer to take the points. That’s what we have here, as both these teams are bottom 10 in the league in net rating.

Back Detroit to keep this one close.
