Detroit Pistons: This proposed trade of Alec Burks to the Bucks is enticing
I’m not sure if this is the deal that gets it done for Weaver to pull the trigger on moving Burks. Burks is clearly the best player in this trade, and Detroit wouldn’t receive a strong enough package to offset the loss. Detroit would be giving up a known commodity for Grayson Allen (ugh) and a big question mark in Beauchamp, though the Bucks and their fans are high on his potential.
Maybe if Milwaukee added one of their future first round picks to sweeten the pot, I’d bite. But, I’m not sure if the Bucks would do that along with giving up their rookie that was just drafted in the first round and who many think has a high ceiling as a two-way wing.
The Bucks are an intriguing trade partner for the Pistons. However, finding a deal that both sides will agree to may be a bit tricky. Detroit may prioritize draft capital over young players, and go elsewhere to take on bad contracts that are packaged alongside stronger draft assets.
If Weaver and co. are looking to add a young piece on a rookie deal, they should take a long look at what it would take for the Bucks to part with Beauchamp.
