Detroit Pistons: Trade of Hamidou Diallo to the Denver Nuggets

This is hardly a blockbuster that is going to shake the foundations of the league, but Bobby Marks of ESPN did come up with one trade idea for the Detroit Pistons involving Hamidou Diallo and the Denver Nuggets.

The Nuggets are currently in first place in the Western Conference and have won eight in a row, so it’s not like they need to make a huge trade, but they would like to shore up the back end of their rotation without going any deeper into the luxury tax. This is a deal that would do it for them.

That’s right, Marks thinks former Piston (and just about every other team) Ish Smith could be on the move and suggests Detroit as a possible location.

It makes perfect sense for the Nuggets, as Smith doesn’t play much for them anyway, and a second-round pick is hardly valuable enough to even care about for a team that is trying to win titles right now behind reigning MVP Nikola Jokic.

As I said, this is no blockbuster, but would net the Detroit Pistons an additional second-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.

So should the Pistons bite on something like this?
