Detroit Pistons: Trading Alec Burks to the Philadelphia 76ers

If the Detroit Pistons can’t find a palatable trade for Burks then they will just keep him, as they need veterans, particularly ones that can shoot the 3-ball.

But they are also en route to the worst defense in franchise history and need defenders, particularly on the wing, if they are going to make a leap next season.

Philadelphia happens to have a 25-year-old wing defender who has already made the All-Defense team twice and doesn’t seem to be part of their future plans.

Here is a deal that could work for both teams:

Both Thybulle and Korkmaz rarely play for the 76ers these days, and they are a team that is trying to win a title now, so wouldn’t miss a second-round pick.

Burks would give them more depth on the wing, better bench scoring and be able to give them more than Thybulle is right now playing 12 minutes per game. Thybulle is also a restricted free agent after this season, so Philly could get something for him before he walks for nothing.

From Philly’s perspective this makes sense, but what about for the Detroit Pistons?
