Pistons: Proposed trade of Bojan Bogdanovic to Heat has pros and cons
The NBA trade deadline is less than 10 days away and it’s still unclear if the Detroit Pistons will be buyers, sellers, both or neither.
Troy Weaver may be feeling some pressure to make changes, though what those changes will be depends on who you ask.
Detroit Pistons: Buyers or sellers at the trade deadline?
Most believe the Pistons will be sellers at the deadline, as they have two veterans in Bojan Bogdanovic and Alec Burks who are coveted by many of the contending teams.
But there are scenarios in which the Detroit Pistons would take on talent, as the 2023 free-agent class isn’t deep, so Weaver may decide to get a head start and try to add talent now.
It’s definitely a seller’s market, which should give the Pistons some leverage, but thus far, teams seem reluctant to meet their asking price of a “tremendous return” for either of their sharpshooters.
Then there was yesterday’s report that the team has told Bojan Bogdanovic that they consider him part of the future core, and would like him to be part of the roster next season when they hopefully turn a corner and at least compete for a play-in spot.
This could just be the Pistons playing games to try and raise his price tag, so the rumor mill is going to keep churning until the trade deadline has passed.
That includes a recent trade proposal from Bleacher Report that has the Detroit Pistons dealing Bojan Bogdanovic to the Miami Heat.
