Detroit Pistons: 1 possible trade with every playoff team in the West
Detroit Pistons: Trade with the Sacramento Kings
The Kings are reportedly looking to add some defense, as they have the top scoring offense in the NBA, but are just 23rd in points allowed.
The Pistons don’t have much in the way of defense, so a small deal is the only likelihood when it comes to the surprising Kings, who are looking for a backup big behind Domantas Sabonis.
Two expiring contracts of guys who don’t play plus a late second-round pick? Might still be too much to give up for Noel, which is why it would have been nice if he had shown he could still play at some point this season.
Detroit Pistons: Trade with the Memphis Grizzlies
The Grizzlies aren’t a team that usually makes splashy trades, but if they wanted more scoring, they have the potential assets to make a move for Bojan Bogdanovic or Alex Burks.
The Pistons have said they won’t take a protected pick, but if there was a young player coming as well, it might change their minds, as Ziaire Williams is potentially the type of young two-way wing they need. The Grizzlies would probably like to do this deal without the pick, but may also view Williams as too much to give up for a 33-year-old shooter.
There is one other option with Memphis:
Brooks is on an expiring deal, so if the Grizzlies don’t think they will re-sign him, they could attempt to move him at the deadline. I see this as extremely unlikely, as Brooks is a big part of their team chemistry (for better or worse), but it may be a chance for the Detroit Pistons to get a head start on free agency, where Brooks could be a potential target. But if so, why not just wait?
But the most interesting trade may be with the Denver Nuggets.
