Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets in trade rumors with New York Knicks
Detroit Pistons: Trading for Cam Reddish of the New York Knicks
The Detroit Pistons could ask for the pick from Dallas, which will likely be in the late first round.
But they could also ask for their own pick back, essentially getting the future pick they owe the Knicks back. This wouldn’t be exciting right away, but would open the door for the Pistons to make future trades, as there would be no restrictions on trading future picks.
If Detroit wants to make a move for an impact player this offseason, (OG Anunoby anyone?) then they will need picks to do it and right now they can’t trade any until the one they owe the Knicks is conveyed.
That makes either pick a valuable one for the Detroit Pistons, so this deal wouldn’t just be about Saddiq Bey, but about future flexibility.
It would be a shame to give up on Bey, who has been up and down this season, but has still shown enough to think he’s going to be a very good role player once he figures it all out.
Stay tuned as the trade deadline approaches.
