The Detroit Pistons will start a five-game homestand tonight as the worst team in the NBA.

The hapless Houston Rockets managed to win two in a row over the terrible San Antonio Spurs, and are now tied with the Pistons, both sitting at 15-49.

Although the schedule doesn’t exactly favor the Pistons’ tank, they are taking steps, either purposefully or otherwise, to stay at the bottom of the league.

They will take on the Portland Trail Blazers tonight, another disappointing team, but the real question is who exactly is going to be on the floor, as it seems like Detroit’s entire lineup is on the injury list for tonight.

Detroit Pistons vs. Portland Trail Blazers: Injuries and starting lineup

Counting Cade Cunningham, who has been out since the 12th game of the season, the Detroit Pistons could have as many as seven players sitting tonight vs. the Trail Blazers with various injuries.

While some of these appeared to happen on the court (Killian Hayes’ hand injury) others are of the dubious variety that we’ve come to expect from a team trying to lose games at the end of the season, once again robbing home fans of their hard-earned money in an effort to get a whopping 14 percent chance at the number one pick and Victor Wembanyama.

Here is the current injury list for the Pistons, but don’t be surprised if Hooper the mascot and the Dancing Usher end up on there too just in case:

  • Rodney McGruder: Day-to-day
  • James Wiseman: Questionable
  • Killian Hayes: Questionable
  • Isaiah Stewart: Out
  • Bojan Bogdanovic: Out
  • Jalen Duren: Out
  • Cade Cunningham: Out

At least fans will get to see Jaden Ivey and Hamidou Diallo, who have really been the only reasons to even watch these games of late.

They’ll also get a heavy dose of Cory Joseph, Eugene Omoruyi (whoever that is) and maybe even some Buddy Boeheim, which is certainly what they were hoping for when they purchased those tickets.

Pardon the sarcasm, but we are in the point of the season when watching these games becomes a chore as we count down the days to the NBA Draft, once again hoping for lottery luck to save the team.
