Detroit Pistons: 5 NCAA Conference Tournaments for fans to watch closely
Big 12
2nd-Round prospect: Dillon Mitchell-Texas
2nd-Round prospect: Jalen Wilson-Kansas
These two prospects are very different, as Wilson is a senior who profiles as a 3-point shooter in the NBA, while Mitchell is a freshman who is known for his athleticism and defensive upside.
Wilson is a 20 ppg scorer who also rebounds the ball well, grabbing eight per game. He’s not thought of as a defensive prospect and if he makes it in the NBA, it will be because of his shooting. He does launch nearly six per game from behind the arc, hitting 33 percent of them.
Mitchell is a lengthy wing who is a high flyer who plays with a lot of energy. He likes to get up and down the floor and finish at the rim, but hasn’t shown much of an offensive game so far. He’s only averaging 4.9 points and 4.3 rebounds per game and doesn’t shoot the 3-ball at all, which will have to change at the next level.
One is a prospect that is ready to come into the NBA and score, while the other is a raw prospect who needs some work.
