Detroit Pistons who raised their trade value in 2022-23

Alec Burks

Alec Burks was known as a solid veteran shooter when the Detroit Pistons acquired him and that is still the case.

But Burks also showed that he can do more than just stand behind the 3-point line. He did shoot the second-best percentage of his career (41.4%) from behind the arc, but he also recorded his best 2-point percentage (45.9%) and effective FG percentage (54.4%).

He improved on his scoring average from his final year with the New York Knicks and showed that he can be a very efficient scorer in limited minutes, which is something all contending teams are looking for off their bench.

Aside from his solid veteran play, Burks is now entering the final year of his contract and will be paid just $10.4 million, which makes him a good bet for a playoff team that needs a shooting upgrade that doesn’t involve big money or a long-term investment.

His salary could be used to match in a trade, but he’s a player that actually has something to offer other than just a compatible salary, which could make him the perfect player to package in a deal.

Of course, all of these things also make him a good choice to stay on as a veteran bench shooter for the young Detroit Pistons, so even though his trade value has gone up slightly, it’s very possible he won’t be moved.
