Bad contracts the Pistons could take on for a 1st-round pick

Tobias Harris

While the Detroit Pistons may not be able to acquire a first-round pick from the 76ers, Tobias Harris would be a great contract to take on if Philadelphia decides to move on. Harris will be in the final year of his contract next season, where he will make a whopping $39 million dollars. If there is a free agent that interests the 76ers then they could look to move off his contract, making the Pistons an interesting trade partner. The former Piston would be able to provide three-point shooting and a scoring boost for Detroit. Harris could also be a player the Pistons could look to trade at the deadline to if he produces for Detroit in the first-half.

Jusuf Nurkic

After a disappointing season, the Portland Trail Blazers will look to get back into contention next season. The question is, will that include their current center, Jusuf Nurkic? The 28-year-old has not been bad for Portland, he has just been unable to stay healthy and is a questionable fit next to Damian Lillard. The Pistons do have a plethora of big men but would taking on the contract of Nurkic be worth it if they get a first-round pick in the process? The Trail Blazers acquired a first-round pick in the Josh Hart trade, making that a very valuable trade chip this offseason.
