The Detroit Pistons will have a big offseason coming up. After a disappointing 17-win season the team will look to make sustainable improvements for next year.

For many fans there are dream players, draft picks and scenarios they will be hoping for. Could a duo of forwards be the perfect storm for the Detroit Pistons this summer?

Detroit Pistons dream offseason: Step 1, draft Brandon Miller

While many fans will hope for the number one overall pick to draft Victor Wembanyama, the chances of that happening are just 14 percent. But If the Pistons were lucky enough to land a top three pick (40.1 percent chance), then the opportunity to draft Brandon Miller would be there. The 6-foot-9 forward from Alabama has all the tools of a dynamic wing in today’s NBA. Miller shot 38 percent from three in college while putting up 19 points per game.

Miller would be a perfect addition to the Pistons core and would be able to play off the young duo of Cade Cunningham and Jaden Ivey. Drafting Miller would also make veteran forward Bojan Bogdanović expendable. Miller has all-star potential and would not be forced into a win-now situation and could come off the bench for Detroit next year.

Detroit Pistons dream offseason: Step 2, sign Jerami Grant

The former Piston traded last offseason, Jerami Grant will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. The 29-year-old had arguably the best season of his career with Portland, averaging 20 points per game while shooting 48 percent from the field. Grant also shot 40 percent from three this season, a career high.

While Grant is in the prime of his NBA career, he can be a veteran presence to help lead the Detroit Pistons. In terms of what kind of contract Grant could command, it would likely be around $30 million dollars a year. It will be interesting to see if Troy Weaver would be willing to commit that type of money to a player entering his thirties, but Grant would make an impact for the Pistons.

The duo of Brandon Miller and Jerami Grant

If the Pistons were to add Brandon Miller and Jerami Grant, can they reach the playoffs next year? These two players would solidify the Pistons wing depth and give the Pistons more defense and shooting. Jerami Grant would also be a perfect mentor for Brandon Miller, as you can see the similarities in their games. What would you think about a Pistons offseason that involves Brandon Miller and Jerami Grant?
