Pistons 2023 offseason primer: Draft needs

It is almost a forgone conclusion that the Detroit Pistons will take a forward in the 2023 NBA Draft.

Most draft experts have them picking from a group that includes Cam Whitmore, Jarace Walker, the Thompson twins and Taylor Hendricks, though we know Detroit could surprise us all.

The Pistons’ biggest need is on the wing, but you could also see them go with a more versatile power forward-type like Jarace Walker who can defend both spots and allow them to play a little bigger.

Detroit probably won’t stop in the first round, as it’s very likely that they add another forward in the second with the 31st pick. There are a bunch of interesting players that will be available with that pick, so the Pistons could find another rotation player in the second round if things bounce their way.

With their roster already stocked with young guards and bigs, we will either see the Pistons address their wing needs in the draft, or trade for one using their pick.
