Detroit Pistons: Possible trade of a center to the Wizards

This is hardly a blockbuster trade but would help both teams at positions of need.

The Wizards get an exciting young center, which would be especially appealing if they lost Porzingis and decided to either blow it up or do a soft rebuild around Beal. They also get a draft pick which would be appealing for the same reason. The Wizards would probably jump at this.

But what about Detroit?

The Pistons are giving up the youngest player in the deal and the guy with the most upside, as well as a pick that could end up yielding a rotation player.

But they would be getting Kispert, a guy who hit over 42 percent of his 3-point shots last season and would be a nice fit off the Pistons’ bench. Detroit is well familiar with Delon Wright (who only has one year left on his deal) and he would be an upgrade at the veteran guard spot that was held by Cory Joseph last season. Wright is a good on-the-ball defender and can play both guard spots.

Kispert is certainly not a great defender, but he’s cheap and hit nearly 50 percent of his field goals last season including 42.4 percent from long range. Having a knock down shooter may allow the Pistons to move on from Bojan Bogdanovic and reap the rewards, possibly replacing that pick they gave up.

Kispert is a similar player only 24-years-old with only team options for the next two seasons.

This is the type of trade the Pistons could do to improve their overall shooting and depth while clearing some of the logjam at center.
