4. Pistons get wing as Nets take on Wiseman

Detroit acquired Wiseman in February in a wild four-team deal that saw them give up on Saddiq Bey and Kevin Knox. The 21-year-old still has plenty of potential, but he has only played center in his career. With Isaiah Stewart and Jalen Duren ahead of him in the pecking order, the Pistons do not have minutes available for him.

The Nets have no reason to rebuild because they traded their draft picks to the Rockets to get James Harden, but they should be looking to take chances on high-upside talent.

Would this be enough for the Nets to part with O’Neale? The 6’4 wing is a strong 3-and-D option that the Nets gave up a first-round pick to acquire in 2022. It turned into the 28th selection in this year’s draft. Would they be willing to take back two seconds and a talented big man for the pick?

Claxton gives the Nets options and versatility. The 6’11 big man has played primarily center throughout his career, but he can switch onto the perimeter and defend multiple positions. Could that open the door for Brooklyn to acquire a young big man like James Wiseman to see if they could make the fit work?

The Nets have to trade a wing this summer, but it is uncertain what they will look for in return.
