Detroit Pistons: Draft trade with the Charlotte Hornets

I’d say that the Detroit Pistons trading up to the 2nd pick is a long shot at best, but I will play along. Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report recently came up with some draft day trade proposals, including one in which the Pistons move up.

I don’t think this trade makes much sense for Charlotte, as Hayward would potentially be a big expiring contact for the Hornets to use as trade bait at this year’s deadline and when he’s healthy, he’s not much worse than Bogdanovic.

They do get two veterans that can help them win now, and still have a chance to land a star player with the 5th pick, so if the Hornets are desperate to win next season and think this will help, it’s possible, though I’d say extremely unlikely.

And what about the Detroit Pistons? Does a move like this make sense?
