Detroit Pistons: predictions about the 2023 NBA Draft class

Best unknown in the 2023 NBA Draft…

Since he played his college ball at Belmont, most people have never seen or heard of Ben Sheppard, but he’s a guy who scored over 18 points per game and shot 41.5 percent from 3-point range on high volume in his final year of college.

He’s a big guard/wing at 6-foot-6 and if you look at Indiana’s current depth chart, there is a good chance he can crack it in his rookie season. He’ll give them another shooter off the bench and could end up being a guy who everyone says “who?” about next season as he has some big games. He can get hot from 3-point range and could up dropping 30 off the bench for the Pacers at some point next season.

Best player from the 2nd round will be…

I really loved Andre Jackson Jr. going into the draft and he landed in a great spot when the Milwaukee Bucks traded for his draft rights. He’s a player who can make a big impact without scoring, so is the perfect type of player to add to a team that already has plenty of scoring pop. He won’t be asked to do anything but play defense, hustle, rebound and create in transition, all things he does very well.

He’s a proven winner and I love him for the Bucks.
