The offseason is moving quickly, as the Detroit Pistons already have their first Summer League game tonight against the Orlando Magic.

The Pistons have hired a new coach, drafted two more first rounders and made two trades that didn’t exactly thrill the fanbase.

But we can take a break from arguing about the offseason to get our first look at Ausar Thompson and Marcus Sasser to go along with second-year players Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren. James Wiseman and Isaiah Livers will also be in the mix, so this should be a competitive Summer League roster for the Pistons.

Summer League has grown in popularity every year and has really turned into an event even though the games are meaningless. It will be the last basketball we get for awhile, so fans will be absorbing as much hope as possible before we get into the dog days of the offseason.

How to watch the Pistons Summer League game tonight

The Pistons will take on the Orlando Magic at 5:30 PM ET and the game will be broadcast on ESPN. It’s a rare nationally televised game for Detroit, and you can also stream it on NBA League Pass depending on what country or region you live in.

Detroit and Orlando have a little rivalry building after last year’s bench-clearing fracas, but none of the players involved will be on the court tonight.

Instead, we’ll get our first look at Thompson and Sasser who will have their hands full against players like Anthony Black and Jett Howard. Last season’s Rookie of the Year Paulo Banchero is not on the Magic’s Summer League roster.

Though we probably won’t get to see much of Jaden Ivey and Jalen Duren, it will be interesting to see how they look and what they have added to their games in the offseason so far.

It will be four months before we get to see this team for real, so get your fill of Summer League basketball while you can.
