Detroit Pistons: 6 teams that need a center and what they could trade

San Antonio Spurs

Current centers: Victor Wembanyama, Zach Collins

Trade pieces: Reggie Bullock, Doug McDermott

The Spurs have already indicated that they plan to use Victor Wembanyama as a power forward, so could look to add a more traditional center around him. His defense and floor spacing would pair well with Marvin Bagley III or James Wiseman, as Wembanyama can cover their defensive deficiencies. If the Pistons could get back a shooting wing like Bullock or McDermott, there might be a match here.

Is proposed trade with Spurs worth it for Detroit?. light. Related Story

Washington Wizards

Current centers: Daniel Gafford, Mike Muscala

Trade pieces: Corey Kispert, Patrick Baldwin Jr., Delon Wright, Johnny Davis

The Wizards could use an upgrade at center, as Muscala is washed and not really a center. They do have a couple of interesting young players they might be willing to part with in Corey Kispert and Patrick Baldwin Jr. The Detroit Pistons have no need for Delon Wright now that they have Monte Morris and Johnny Davis looks like a bust.

As you can see, there isn’t a ton out there for the Detroit Pistons and teams are not going to give up much for a guy like MBIII, so they might be best served waiting until next season’s trade deadline to see who wins the battle for minutes and if there are teams out there desperate for a center.
