3 most underrated Detroit Pistons on the roster

Isaiah Livers

Isaiah Livers has played just 71 games for the Detroit Pistons in two seasons with little to show for it.

Injuries kept him off the floor for most of his rookie season, and last season he was never able to get into a rhythm after again having to miss big stretches with injuries.

But Livers has been living in the weight room this offseason in an effort to strengthen his body and come into the season healthy for the first time in his career.

He’s often left out of predictions about the Pistons’ rotation next season, but people seem to forget that when healthy, Livers is a guy who can defend and shoot the 3-ball, two things the Detroit Pistons will need out of their second unit.

A healthy Livers could be the key to the rotation, as he can provide minutes at the four, which would keep the Pistons from having to play bigs out of position and allow them to have multiple good shooters on the floor at all times.

Livers is a much better shooter and far more versatile defensively than either James Wiseman or Marvin Bagley III at the four, and could bring balance to an unbalanced roster and rotation if he can just stay healthy.

He’s also on a lowball contract of $1.8 million for next season, which could represent a great value. Good teams get contributions from these types of minimum guys and Isaiah Livers could surprise some people next season by becoming one of them.
