Team Canada is the only real threat to Team USA in the FIBA World Cup

The biggest threat to Team USA comes from just across the border, as Team Canada is also stacked with NBA players, including All-NBA guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

They also have RJ Barrett, Dillon Brooks, Lu Dort, Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Kelly Olynyk and Dwight Powell with NCAA Player of the Year Zach Edey. They have size, great athleticism and most importantly, some defenders who can slow down Team USA.

Barrett, Brooks and Dort are a formidable defensive trio on the perimeter and SGA is as good as anyone when it comes to carving up a defense on the other end.

Their long-range shooting is questionable, but they have already beaten France and Lebanon handily and are probably the one team in the tournament that really believes they can beat Team USA.

Teams are still trying to gel and find an identity, which can be just as important in tournaments like these as the talent you have on paper.

Team USA looks like the team to beat but anything can happen in a knockout format.
