If there is one player you don’t want to mess with on the Detroit Pistons, it’s probably Isaiah Stewart, as the big man is more action than talk.

We saw it when he went after LeBron James after LeBron took a cheap shot and bloodied Stewart’s eye. It took security and the entire Pistons’ team to keep Stewart from getting his hands on LeBron, which made for a very meme-able moment that looked like something out of the WWE.

The incident endeared Stewart to Pistons’ fans who have been waiting for years for this team to show some heart and life.

Isaiah Stewart is not playing around, which former player Gilbert Arenas found out firsthand after running his mouth about how Beef Stew went after LeBron.

Pistons news: Isaiah Stewart scares the life out of Gilbert Arenas

Gilbert Arenas co-hosts multiple shows where he mostly gives his hot takes on the game and shares stories about his playing days with fellow NBA players.

He’s never short on opinions and had plenty to say about Stewart after the LeBron debacle, saying that Stewart was clowning and didn’t really start acting crazy until his teammates got around, as if Beef Stew needs Cade Cunningham to protect him.

When the two ran into each other face to face at a basketball camp, Arenas’ opinions suddenly got really quiet. Here’s him talking about the encounter:

Sometimes we in the media forget that these players are real humans with emotions (one of them anger) and if you are going to talk greasy you had better be ready to back it up, or in Arenas’ case, apologize profusely.

The NBA is full of fake tough guys, but Isaiah Stewart is definitely not one of them, which is one of the reasons I am glad he’s on our side.

Arenas says a lot of stupid stuff, but he is funny, and I do like his show from time to time, so hopefully we’ll hear more about this incident in the future.
