Joe Johnson played for eight different NBA teams over the span of his 20-year career, but never played a single minute for the Detroit Pistons.

Johnson was signed on September 19, 2019, not long after the Pistons had signed Derrick Rose, apparently unaware that it was no longer 2009.
It actually looked like he might make the team, and Pistons’ fans were lobbying for it in some circles even though Johnson was pushing 40 at this point and far more suited to the Big 3 league where he ended up.
Detroit waived him just over a month later and ended all of the speculation and essentially, Johnson’s career.
