Detroit Pistons: Trade proposal with Clevland Cavaliers

The Detroit Pistons were terrible on both ends last season, finishing near the bottom of the league in both offense and defense.

Drafting Ausar Thompson should help the defense, and the return of Cade Cunningham to go along with the additions of Harris and Morris should give a boost to the shooting and overall offense.

But Detroit could still use more quality defenders, especially off the bench, and the Cavaliers have one in Isaac Okoro. This trade was proposed by Zach Buckley at Bleacher Report and sees the Pistons giving up one of their shooters for a flyer on defensive upside:

In this trade, the Cavs get a proven shooter for their bench and the Pistons get a 22-year-old with big-time defensive upside along with three 2nd-round picks.

The Cavaliers do not have a plus 3-point shooter coming off their bench. They were middle of the pack in 3-point percentage last season and though adding Max Strus should help some, they still have three guards coming off the bench who aren’t great 3-point shooters.

But what about the Detroit Pistons? Would it be a prudent move to trade proven production for another young player?
