The Detroit Pistons didn’t make any huge offseason moves, but that doesn’t mean one isn’t coming at some point this season.

The Pistons are in a good position with veteran sharpshooters contenders might want to go along with at least six expiring contracts, making it possible for them to be involved in a big trade as a primary player or third team.

That doesn’t mean they will be going after a star player, but Detroit is well positioned to be busy at the trade deadline.

Big trades could put Pistons in the driver's seat. light. Related Story

The Damian Lillard trade set off an arms race in the Eastern Conference and we may see other teams make moves to try and keep up.

But he won’t be the last star traded this season, as there are a lot of players in situations that could lead to more movement.

James Harden: Philadelphia 76ers

Next up on the disgruntled star list is James Harden, who skipped media day in his continued effort to get traded.

This one is not as simple as the Lillard trade, as Harden is not viewed as favorably around the league as a teammate and comes into the season on an expiring deal. It’s hard to see teams giving up a huge haul for Harden, which is likely why he is still on the 76ers.

Whether he will be when the season starts is another story.

He’s not coming to Detroit, but with all of their expiring deals, the Pistons could be involved as a third team.
