The Detroit Pistons have started training camp and the first preseason game is this weekend, so we aren’t far away from meaningful basketball.

The roster has been dealt its first blow with the injury to Isaiah Livers, but there will still be plenty of competition in training camp, preseason and practices.

Killian Hayes is battling for a spot in the rotation, the backup center and power forward positions are both up for grabs and veteran Joe Harris is trying to prove he’s more than just an expiring contract.

Practices should be intense, as the bench groups aren’t far away from the starters and the Pistons have more depth than they have had in years.

If you’re interested in watching it first hand, the Detroit Pistons are once again hosting an open practice for fans.

When is the Detroit Pistons’ open practice?

The Detroit Pistons announced that they will have their annual open practice on October 15th at Little Caesar’s Arena. There will be a practice and team scrimmage, so fans can get a first look at players like Ausar Thompson and Marcus Sasser against live NBA competition. Doors open at 2:00 PM and the practice will start at 3:00 PM ET.

How to get tickets to the Pistons open practice?

Tickets to the Pistons’ open practice are free and you can claim up to four of them here.

This is a great chance for fans to get to see what an NBA practice looks like, and the first 1,500 through the door will get some sort of freebie.

The scrimmage should be interesting, as there is little separating guys like Killian Hayes and Marcus Sasser, or James Wiseman and Marvin Bagley III, so they’ll all be trying to impress new head coach Monty Williams and show they deserve those minutes.
