Ron Holland: 6-foot-8 SF, G-League Ignite

If there is one prospect to push Justin Edwards for the top spot in the draft, it’s Ron Holland. The former 5-star and Texas commit will play his next season in the G-League. The 6-foot-8 wing has the motor and potential to be a key piece to any championship-contending team not too far in the future. With a 7-foot wingspan and insane versatility, Holland is said to have even better defensive abilities than the aforementioned Edwards. If there is an area that Ron should improve on, it’s his outside shooting. Not projected as a number one scoring option, Holland still will need to be consistent from outside to keep teams from keying in on it defensively.

Going to the G-League, Holland should be able to build his frame out, and continue to work on shooting with consistency. As was the case with Justin Edwards, Detroit would need to have a disappointing season to stand a chance with Ron. That said, he, too, would slide into the 3 spot, or even possibly the 4 position, possibly filling the expected Bojan vacancy with a small ball lineup. If Holland can improve his shooting even slightly, Detroit would be adding a 20-point-per-game player in the middle of their lineup.
