Mackenzie Mgbako: 6-foot-8 SF, Indiana, Freshman

If the Detroit Pistons are to play more towards their ceiling this upcoming season, Mackenzie Mgbako out of Indiana is a likely later lottery option. He’s listed as a small forward but plays more like a power forward with advanced offensive abilities. His offensive footwork allows him to attack at the four, while his elite shooting can pull the defenders away from the basket. His footwork defensively needs work, however. It’s his lack of defensive lateral ability that is holding him from jumping up draft boards.

The one-time Duke commit would fit in perfectly with Detroit’s roster. He would likely slide in at the three in a normal lineup, or add an offensive spark at the four if they decide to go small ball. His ability to light it up from deep while also potentially guarding 2-5 on the defensive end, if he continues to improve, would pair perfectly next to Ivey and Cade.
