Ja Morant is only the 35th-best player in the NBA?

Ja Morant has no one but himself to blame for this, as this is clearly about his off-the-court issues and the fact that he’ll be suspended for 25 games to start the season.

Morant has been saying all of the right things since his suspension, but talk is cheap, so he has to prove he can stop making poor decisions off the court.

I hope that he does, as Morant is one of the most exciting players in the league and I always cheer for the other small-market teams to succeed.

If this were only about basketball skills, then Morant would probably be higher, as he averaged 26 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds last season, making his second All-Star team in the process.

Morant is better than some of the guys ahead of him and he knows it, so I am sure this will be bulletin board fodder for him as he waits out his suspension.

He’ll likely make his return in game 26 against New Orleans and I expect him to be focused and ready to prove this ranking wrong.
