The Detroit Pistons had a productive trade deadline, adding players and picks without giving anything up.

The biggest addition was point guard Dennis Schroder, who will provide a much-needed backup for Cade Cunningham as well as a guy who can take some of the scoring load.

Trajan Langdon made a series of moves that all fit together once you see the final product, as he first traded for KJ Martin and two second-round picks, then flipped Martin and one of the picks to Golden State for Lindy Waters III, Schroder and a different second-round selection.

If you are counting at home, the Pistons just walked away from the trade deadline with two second-round picks, Lindy Waters III and Dennis Schroder and didn’t give up a single thing to get them, which is solid work by team president Langdon, who whose start with the Pistons has been a breath of fresh air.

The Pistons did have to cut Wendell Moore Jr. to get under the roster limit.

This was the first trade deadline in recent memory where the Pistons added talent, and the first time I remember them making trades in which it was clear they came out ahead.

They may need Schroder immediately tonight, as the Pistons’ injury report is suddenly littered with names.

Pistons injuries vs. 76ers: Is Cade Cunningham playing tonight?

Cade Cunningham tweaked his ankle in the loss to Cleveland and is listed as questionable for tonight’s game against Philly. Even with Schroder on board, the Pistons will be hard pressed to endure any amount of time without their best player and team leader.

Malik Beasley and Tobias Harris are both listed as probable and my guess is that both will suit up, as the pair rarely miss games, one of the reasons Langdon wanted them.

Dennis Schroder is listed as day-to-day so it’s unclear if he’ll make his debut tonight in Detroit.

The 76ers will be as healthy as they’ve been this season against the Pistons. Jared McCain has been ruled out for the season already and Andre Drummond is currently listed as out, but that may change by game time.

Philly has Guerschon Yabusele listed as questionable and former Piston and recent Maverick Quentin Grimes is expected to make his debut for the 76ers.
